The train's "wheels" would clip into the seams of the rails on the turns where they connect, then GMod would try to bounce them out of the brush, causing the whole train to jump in the process. Sometimes even when driving slowly the train would randomly derail. I tried manually slowing down on those turns, which worked but not quite. While trying to find out what the cause may be, I did a few extra tests. The remaining 6 occurred on multiple random turn on the map. Once again, 10 of them were on the same exact turn. X86-64 Branch - The train derailed 16 times. The remaining 4 on a different turn while driving away from the beach. In 10 out of 14 of them the derailing occurred on the turn in the tunel under the bowling alley every single time. Nothing to say here.Ĭhromium Branch - The train has derailed 14 times. The results were very interesting to say the least and also prove my theory that the physics seem to be slightly more broken on the chromium and x86-64 branches.īeta disabled - The train hasn't derailed at all throughout all of the laps.

In case the train would derail, I set it back on track and continue the lap until all 10 are finished. On each branch I would take the built in train and do 10 full speed laps around the map with it and count how many times it would derail while trying to determine what the cause may be. This time I was sure that something was at play here, so I decided to do a test.īasically, I would launch the map first with the beta disabled, then try to see if any changes occur while playing it on the chromium and x86-64 branches. I assumed that whatever caused that bug got fixed in the recent patch at that time.īut then recently while playing mobenix on the x86-64 branch it started happening again. Eventually I forgot about it and switched off the beta, with everything returning to normal. I thought it might have been a problem with the game itself and not the beta. The train seemed to be a lot more prone to derailing constantly, mainly on the turns. I've noticed that first on the gm_mobenix_v3 map while doing whatever and driving around with built in train while playing on the old chromium branch before the newer x86-64 one was added.

While playing on and off the beta branches of the game I've noticed that GMod's physics seem to be a lot more unstable in certain situations. Ok, here's something I noticed while fucking around in game and I can't seem to find anyone else talking about it or even acknowledging it in any way, so here it is.
